WOW! Nothing like it.
The concept of the show is simple. Each episode they have two to three stories of usually one or two people that experienced a horrific event that they still managed to survive. The show rotates between these stories throughout the hour to keep it suspenseful, and it does just that.
Cinematography - This is something REALLY unique to this show that really gives it an eerie feeling. They ONLY show people talking who were part of whatever event was they survived. There are no friends, cops, or any narrators talking. The survivor/s are sitting somewhere with a black background, and the vast majority of the show is watching them talk. They will sometimes show almost stills of where (or maybe just something similar) the events were taking place, and will have a little caption at the bottom like, "Marie had been shot five times in the head, and more than 50% of the blood in her body is gone" (or something like that). The whole manner in which its filmed is very compelling...
True Reality Television
This show is an intense recount of actual events that happened to actual people who somehow found the strength and determination to survive horrific events. No special effects, no well known actors. Just a survivor gripping you with their every word as you sit in awe. Truly an amazing show with amazing people.
Riveting stories told with great emotional feeling
I would not watch this if you are already afraid to go out. Some of the situations are random but others point out how dangerous the world is for women alone.
